The SPE Offshore Europe Conference 2015, Aberdeen

In a little over a month, one of the larger events in the Oil & Gas calendars takes place – the SPE Offshore Europe Conference, or OE 2015 as it is being called on social media.

Held biennially, the 2015 event is being hosted at the AECC in Aberdeen, and will feature over 1500 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors from across the industry, with the primary focus being on the upstream sector.

The event attracts technical experts and industry leaders from across the globe, and given the two day nature of the event, many choose to charter a private jet in order to capitalise on their increased flexibility and efficiency.

We have already had a high number of enquiries for private jet charters to Aberdeen from countries far and wide, including the Middle East, the US, and Brazil, as well as a large number from those intimately associated with the industry closer to home, such as Russia and Norway.

Villiers Jets are capable of handling any private jet charter requirements you may have to this years SPE Offshore Europe Conference, whether it be for an individual or for larger corporate requirements. For all details please contact us.

Private Jet Charter in Brazil

The sheer scale of Brazil – it is the fifth largest country in the world and spans four time zones – and its wild and varying geography, mean that for many Brazilians air transportation is the quickest and most sensible way to travel for both business and leisure.

The growing economic stature of Brazil, which is the largest economy in Latin America as well as being the seventh largest economy globally, has created a new generation of wealth in the country which is driving the country forward as a dynamic, outward looking nation, with significant exports, and a growing consumer base at home with increasing disposable income.

It follows, of course, that Brazil is already a big player in the aviation markets, aircraft being one of their larger exports (Embraer is based in Sao Paolo). Given its size, growing wealth, and historical associations with aircraft production and exports, then, it is understandable that the private aviation sector is also growing, and many expect to see the Brazilian presence in the market substantially increase over the coming years. The size of Brazil’s private aircraft fleet is already second only to the US.

We already see a good number of private jet charter requests originating in Brazil, both internationally and domestically, and the trend looks set to continue. The World Cup in 2014 saw a spike in investment in critical infrastructure such as improved facilities and updates to existing airports as well as the construction of several new terminals in Sao Paolo, Brasilia, and Fortaleza, in the north east of the country.

The Rio Carnival 2015 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Private jet charter to The Rio Carnival, Brazil

The Rio Carnival 2015 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

It is regularly billed as one of the greatest parties on Earth, and is certainly known the world over for its celebration of colour, samba and food which attract over two million people on to the streets every day. The Rio Carnival is almost here, and very simply we can’t wait.

The festival traces its history back to 1723, as a celebration before the onset of Lent. Although the early festival goers would struggle to associate those early celebrations with the global event that the carnival has now become, there is no doubt that they would enjoy it equally, and be just as astonished and awed by the sheer scale and vibrancy of the event as the rest of us.

Attracting tourists from all over the world, the Rio Carnival is one of the few things that you will find on any sensible individuals bucket list. It is hands down one of the most incredible spectacles there is, and frankly it is something that simply has to be seen and experienced first hand. A heady combination of sunshine, heat, exotic aromas, rhythmic music and excitement is set against the backdrop and beauty of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and spectacular Rio landscapes.

The Carnival this year takes place on the 8th February, and here at Villiers Jets we can fly you straight to Rio de Janeiro International Airport, only 14km’s from the city centre, to experience the carnival yourself – please contact us for details.

Formula One: The Season Begins at the Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne

Formula One: The Season Begins at the Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne

It may only seem like days ago that Lewis Hamilton secured his second World Championship at the final race of the 2014 season in Abu Dhabi. However, the close season is racing by and testing begins for the 2015 season on February 1st, ahead of the opening Grand Prix of the season – the Australian Grand Prix, at Albert Park in Melbourne on the weekend of the 12th – 15th March.

This curtain raiser is always popular and attracts big crowds, all keen to see how the competing teams shape up under competitive race conditions. Amongst the favourites this year will undoubtedly be Mercedes once again, however expect stronger challenges from Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, who have all shaken up their driving teams and will be looking to make a statement of intent early on.

There has always been a great synergy between the Formula 1 community and the world of private aviation – perhaps it is the appeal one invariably has on a fan of the other – both being synonymous with speed, glamour, exquisite engineering and cutting edge technology. We however think there is more to it than this.

Given the race schedules over the season, and the global reach of the sport, with the Grand Prix band wagon heading from China to Spain, Monaco to Canada and Brazil to Abu Dhabi, to name but a few – it is unsurprising that the Formula 1 teams depend to a great degree on private jets to transfer equipment and individuals between race weekends in the most efficient and least taxing manner, allowing them as much time as possible to prepare for the next event whilst keeping key personnel fresh and in the best possible shape.

Beyond the Australian Grand Prix, the jewel in the crown of the sports calendar – the Monaco Grand Prix – takes place on the weekend of the 23rd – 25th May, and the season finale takes place in Abu Dhabi on the 21st – 23rd November. The British grand Prix, at Silverstone, is on the 4th – 6th July.

If you would like to arrange a private jet charter to any of this years Grand Prix races, beginning with the Australian GP on the 15th March, please get in touch with us at Villiers jets.
