The Rio Carnival 2015 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
It is regularly billed as one of the greatest parties on Earth, and is certainly known the world over for its celebration of colour, samba and food which attract over two million people on to the streets every day. The Rio Carnival is almost here, and very simply we can’t wait.
The festival traces its history back to 1723, as a celebration before the onset of Lent. Although the early festival goers would struggle to associate those early celebrations with the global event that the carnival has now become, there is no doubt that they would enjoy it equally, and be just as astonished and awed by the sheer scale and vibrancy of the event as the rest of us.
Attracting tourists from all over the world, the Rio Carnival is one of the few things that you will find on any sensible individuals bucket list. It is hands down one of the most incredible spectacles there is, and frankly it is something that simply has to be seen and experienced first hand. A heady combination of sunshine, heat, exotic aromas, rhythmic music and excitement is set against the backdrop and beauty of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and spectacular Rio landscapes.
The Carnival this year takes place on the 8th February, and here at Villiers Jets we can fly you straight to Rio de Janeiro International Airport, only 14km’s from the city centre, to experience the carnival yourself – please contact us for details.
