Baselworld 2015 – the biggest watch and jewellery show of the year

In case you had thought that ArtBasel was the only major annual event to take place in the famous Swiss city, think again. Every spring, the city also plays host to BaselWorld – one of the largest international watch and jewellery trade shows and one which regularly attracts towards 100,000 visitors.

The large crowds are made up of designers, buyers, consumers, and press, all drawn to the event by the opportunity to see the latest creations and innovations by key names in the industry. These include watchmakers such as Rolex, Breitling, and Patek Philipe, and such household names from the jewellery world as Graff, Bulgari and Chopard.

Unsurprisingly, given Basel’s unique location at the point where the Swiss, German and French borders meet, it is a highly international event and we often see a spike in interest in jet charters to Basel-Mulhouse airport from throughout Europe, as well as a healthy demand from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider Middle-East.
